Italy's biggest Celtic Music festival in Montelago was the backdrop for Celtica's biggest project in 2017: recording for a live DVD/BluRay with a classical orchestra and choir. Featuring classical orchestra arrangements and a 30 piece choir, a new standard was set for the bands sophisticated sound, consisting of all original compositions. More than 250000 votes and 4 weeks on the top of the Celtic music charts brought this music award for the original song "Cape Horn".Ģ016 was the year of their latest Symphonic/Celtic Rock masterpiece, the album "Steamphonia". Soon afterwards, they were invited to play several of shows on Hawaii, USA, where a spectacular music video was made.Īlso noteworthy, Celtica have been awarded the much coveted MacDudel Music Award by European Celtic Radio giant "Schottenradio". Sharing stages with Judas Priest, Rob Zombie, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra was one of their 2015 highlights.
It only took a few years for Celtica to be invited to play the world's biggest Metal Festival: W.O.A. In 2014, the release of their third CD "Legends and Visions" was accompanied by their longest US and EU tours to date: 59 shows in 8 Months, including renown "North Texas Irish Fest", "Galway Bay Irish Music festival" a.m.m., and opened up invitations to Shamrock Fest DC and Milwaukee Irish Festival for 2015. In 2013, Celtica performed at many of the biggest Celtic Music Festivals: Grandfather Mountain HGs, Pleasanton HGs, Newport Celtic Rock Festival (alongside Dropkick Murphys!), Longs Peak Scottish Irish Festival, Alaska HGs a.m.m., in addition to another extended European tour, including Spain, France, Netherlands, Germany, and Italy.Ī special moment in band history occurred when both their CDs simultaneously occupied spots No.1 & 2 in CdBaby's Celtic Top Seller list.
Trying to extend their popularity “across the pond”, they start gaining notoriety with several US and Canadian promoters, leading to the planning of their first North American Tour for Fall of 2012.Įnergized by their second CD release “Oceans of Fire”, Celtica was booked solid on the European festival circuit from May to October 2012, followed by a string of appearances in Canada and the US, including prestigious Celtic Festivals at New Hampshire Highland Games, Canmore (CAN), Oklahoma Scotfest, and Pipes in the Valley (CT). The 2011 season extends Celtica's “touring territory” to more countries (Netherlands, Slovenia) and even bigger festivals, while they start working on their second CD “Oceans of Fire”. Their first CD “Rising” becomes a “Celtic” favorite on European radio stations and a hot seller on Internet Music outlets. The combination of the traditional sound of Scottish bagpipes with the power of a Rock Band promised to become a recipe for quick success.ĭuring the summer touring season of 2010 they played most of Europe's major Celtic and/or Scottish themed festivals, as well as many local Music and Art Festivals, taking them to Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, and Austria, just to name a few.
Celtica's history started in 2009 when several European and American musicians got together in Phoenix, AZ to record their first CD “Rising” and headed to Grand Canyon and Monument Valley for their first video shoot.
